Hi there friends, I’m Amy!
Welcome to Joyful Altitude!
I’m so glad that you stumbled upon my blog. If you’re looking for all things Colorado, travel inspiration or Colorado inspired recipes then you’ve come to the right place!
I can’t wait to share some of my Colorado lifestyle with you! I may even throw in a recipe or two now and then. So c’mon! What are you waiting for? Grab a nice cozy drink and settle in for awhile – I can’t wait to share my “Joyful Altitude” with you!
Let’s Get Started!
A little background for you
I am a Colorado Native – born and raised!
I’ve lived in many areas of Colorado (from Denver to Montrose, which is on the complete OPPOSITE side of the state from Denver!). This has allowed me to experience and explore so many different areas of Colorado. My husband, Nathan, and I travel all over the state in our free time. If you’re interested in seeing more, head over to my blog to check out where I’ve been!
I love to cook, bake and experiment with new recipes!
I take a lot of my cooking inspiration from some of the great things that Colorado is known for – peaches, green chili’s, elk… what more could you want! Check out my recipes page if you’re interested in some Colorado inspired cuisine! Or, if you’re in the market for some yummy baked goods, head over to my new blog, Buckets of Yum!
I find joy in traveling and exploring new places!
Nothing is greater than experiencing new places! I enjoy traveling with my husband, whether that is just up the road from our house or across the country. It is always such a joy to be able to soak in a new area while exploring, taking photos, trying new foods, and relishing in all of the amazing things God has created!
More Fun Facts!
Like, why the name “Joyful Altitude”?
My nickname is “Amy Joy”
My grandpa first gave me the nickname because I always showed up to my grandparent’s house with a smile on my face – I guess the name just stuck! Because of my nickname and my affection for Colorado, I decided to name my blog “Joyful Altitude”!
I attended Colorado State University – Go Rams!
For my first two years of college, I attended Baylor University but eventually switched to CSU. Texas will always have a special place in my heart, but I missed my mountains so much that I decided to move back! I graduated with a degree in Marketing, along with a new boyfriend who is now my husband – who knew?!
I enjoy a wide variety of hobbies!
I love to ski, hike, and camp but also enjoy exploring different restaurants, wineries, breweries, and of course, doing some shopping and traveling to other areas! These provide some of my best inspiration for new recipes and decorating ideas! Wait… does shopping still count as a hobby?
